Jody Stahancyk – Founder
Jody Stahancyk has been a lawyer since 1973. She first practiced law as a Multnomah County Deputy D.A.,a pro tem Juvenile Judge, and as Oregon deputy attorney general. Jody founded the firm of Stahancyk, Kent & Hook in 1986 specializing in Family Law and Estate Planning. The firm has multiple office across Oregon and Southwest Washington.
In 2022 the Oregon State Bar approached Jody re the implementation of a program to create Licensed Paralegals in Oregon. Jody immediately saw the value to Oregonians as a more cost effective way to deliver family law assistance as well as a way to create a new career path for legal assistants to harness their value in family law.
In 2024 nine of the 10 first Oregon Licensed Paralegals were employed by Jody’s firm. The instituting of a service to train and escort Oregonians to become Licensed Paralegals is a part of Jody’s plan to elevate every qualified candidate to the status of Oregon Licensed Paralegal.
